Studies show that over 70% of after-hours concerns are not true life-threatening emergencies, but it can be difficult for pet owners to know what requires immediate care and what can safely wait.
Our goal is to help reduce the stress and anxiety that can come with not living near a 24-hour emergency hospital and to help prevent unnecessary long-distance travel when it may not be needed.
By calling our regular clinic number after hours, you can speak directly with a Registered Veterinary Technician at no cost who can help guide you through your pet’s situation and discuss the next best steps. This may include:
- helping locate the nearest emergency hospital and calling ahead to ensure your pet can be seen,
- scheduling your pet into our first available appointment if the concern is manageable until then.
- or, if warranted, arranging a telemedicine consultation with a veterinarian for an additional fee.
