Dr. Jenn has been the owner of the Minden Animal Hospital since 2014. She absolutely loves living in the Highlands, a place where she spent her childhood summers at the family cottage. She did her undergraduate and Veterinary Degrees at the University of Guelph/ Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, graduating in 2009. She is passionate about working with the community and works with several local groups and shelters to improve the welfare of less fortunate animals. She is passionate about preventative medicine and taking a holistic approach to each patient. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and six children, they can be found hiking, four-wheeling, boating and skating on their outdoor rink. Adding to their busy lives she also has two furry children, Haze & Moose
Dr. Kate was raised in Barry’s Bay, Ontario and has always known she would pursue her passion to become a veterinarian. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. She has since been working in small animal general practice and has a keen interest in surgery and emergency medicine.
Kate moved to the Haliburton Highlands in 2013 and thoroughly enjoys everything the area has to offer. She loves spending time outside, hiking, cycling, swimming, fishing and playing hockey and slow pitch softball. She also loves to read and spend time with her family.
Kate, her partner Ryan, son Ben and daughter Ava share their home with their dog Maddison, new addition Lenny and two cats named Pekoe and Earl.
Dr. Esperanza Di Iorio is a compassionate veterinarian, who grew up in the GTA, and is excited to take a step or two outside of the city. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2022 and has since been practicing in small animal medicine. She is enthusiastic about preventative medicine and nutrition, hoping to keep pets healthy and stop problems before they ever start.
Outside the clinic, they enjoy reading, cooking, travelling, and spending time with their furry family that includes 3 dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and a host of fish. Dr. Esperanza is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized care to every patient at Minden Animal Hospital.
Nicole is our Veterinary Practice Manager. Nicole grew up in Bowmanville, Ontario, but after many years of passing by the beautiful views that Kawartha Lakes and the Highlands have to offer, Nicole moved to Norland. Nicole has two daughters, Laci & Leah and her fur daughter Sadie. Nicole comes from a background in Business Operations and Business Management. In her spare time Nicole enjoys cooking, home renovations and the great outdoors with her family. Stop by the office beside our reception area to say hi.
Priscilla joined the Minden Animal Hospital team as a veterinary technician in July 2023. She always knew her goal in life was to work in veterinary medicine. She graduated from Guelph University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2021, then proceeded to Georgian College and graduated from the Veterinary Technician Diploma program in 2023. She spends her free time on Crystal Lake often hiking, camping or paddling with her Golden Retriever (Joe), Chocolate Lab (Talia), Duck Toller (Jaxon) and two cats (Kevin and Wallace).
Liana started at Minden Animal Hospital in 2007 as a volunteer and moved up to a full time position as Veterinary Assistant/receptionist. She has a diploma in Animal Sciences. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She has two daughters, Caelin and Cora. She has three furry children. Daffnie Duck who is a lab X hound, Forest who is a redbone X walker and Jenny who is a sibling to Forest. You will usually see Liana at the reception desk greeting you as you walk in.
Sadie is one of our ACA’s. She has grown up around animals, having ridden horses since she was 5. She is experienced in the large animal industry and has joined us to further her experience with our smaller companions. Sadie is entering her 2nd year of Veterinary Technician schooling with the University of Guelph and will graduate in 2025.
Hi I'm Megan! I have 2 older brothers and a twin brother. I grew up in Edmonton Alberta and I recently moved to Fenelon Falls to live with my boyfriend Chris. I have 2 fur babies and their names are Molly and Koda and they love to play with each other.
My favorite season is summer because I love swimming and sitting in the sun. We have a pool in our backyard so on a nice hot sunny day, you will see me outside in the pool relaxing! I also like to play video games on my free time, as well as going camping.
At the end of August of this year I received a Veterinary Assistant Certificate after completing the Veterinary Assistant Program at Georgian college. I have always had passion for animals ever since I was younger and I'm more than excited to continue to have passion and love for all your fur babies here at MAH.
Cristen recently moved to Minden with her husband and 4 children aged 16, 14, 10 & 9. They have all always loved the outdoors and wanted to get away from the busy big city life. They found their dream home here in Minden on a large property where they can enjoy some of their favourite outdoor activities such as ATVing, hiking the trails and cooking over the open fire. Cristen is also a fur mom to a 1.5 year old Leonberger named Hetfeild and a mama to 6 chickens.
Madi graduated from Northern college in 2021. She grew up in Napanee on a small hobby farm, having always loved animals she knew this was the career for her. Madi and her boyfriend moved to the Kinmount area with their dog, Dixie (Rotti/Shep) and then she joined our team in Fall 2023. Outside of work Madi really enjoys being outside, camping and ATVing.
Breanna was born and raised in Orillia, ON. She moved to the highlands in 2021 after having twin sons. She has always had a passion for animals and has experience working with rescue animals at an animal sanctuary. She was thrilled to join the Minden Animal Hospital team in the fall of 2024.
Breanna enjoys being outside with her boys boating, swimming, fishing and hiking. In her free time she loves to create art by painting, drawing, or practicing pyrography.
Breanna hopes to expand her career in the world of veterinary medicine in the future. She has a tuxedo cat named Remington.
